Empty Roads, Breaking Shores

After calamity struck the Earth, split it open
And every bad light that held back was released
Suddenly the Earth stood still in all of it's masks
And there, I saw the world choke up

Just as I have suffocated on all of these dreams
With every moment of every contretemps
And every sigh of desperation and unthoughtfulness bleeding
I've been scarred down to the broken beating of a heart

And now I've seen the mundane life I've lived
The mud and dirt that covered every step I've shaken
And should I have won of liar's day
Then I would've been still alive

But I've seen hope, I've seen the chance to live
And I've seen the mud and the dirt to come back again
As tears opposed me, and I simply sigh with full faced nothingness
I am now here to show you, just how I've come empty-handed
