Where I Woke Up

I left the warm air
Where I heard the same melody over and over
Just to write this simple note-less song
About only what's felt and seen

Every streetlight here illuminates
Outside this darker and less than blank sky
That fell down on me earlier because it was so heavy
Just like my eyes that dreamt of you

Now looking down on this broken earth
That I once stepped down upon
That He once came down to fix for me
Oh, how I dream of this

And peace has never stood so silent
And every swing of it, to and fro
Will speak more of my dreams
Even when this pen dies, and my words become few

So though, I dress like a ghost that haunts my dreams
I sing of the song and it's sweet melody
I'll sleep tonight, and hear you sing
Of the love over me, the very love I hold

Man, you're a poem producing machine. This is beautiful.
